All weddings are special.  I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of and tell the story of each family’s wonderful day.  But some weddings are just a joy to be a part of.  Jenna & Justin’s wedding was one of those.

Maybe it was the seriousness with which they approached every moment of their ceremony.  Or the fact that they wanted to share the Lord’s Supper with their guests.  Or maybe it was the obvious blessing and joy that their families had over this union.  I don’t know, but for whatever reason, it just felt…. right.

And maybe it was me that had the different perspective.  This was the first wedding I photographed after getting married myself.  I was looking at the day through a different set of eyes.  The usual feelings I have the morning of a wedding, nerves and worries that I’ll do everything right, were replaced with excitement for Jenna & Justin.  Excitement that they got to get married that day!  Excitement for Jenna, that she got to be a bride and everything that comes with that.  They got to experience the joy that I had recently experienced and that was pretty cool!

 

Jenna’s grandmother had given this penny for Tami (Jenna’s mom’s) shoe when she got married.  Here Tami is passing it on to Jenna.  So special!

Jenna’s dad just couldn’t bear to give his daughter away with just a “her mother and I”.  His words were so meaningful.
